The KMR is a unique railway built to two-foot (610 mm) gauge on a zig-zag formation. To gain the maximum height within the shortest distance, steep grades and tight curves also abound, with panoramic views (360 degrees) to take your breath away at ‘Summit Station’.

We are situated in the North East corner of the Tallarook Ranges, North Central Victoria.

Located at 7523 Goulburn Valley Highway (B340) at Kerrisdale equi-distant between the towns of Seymour and Yea, in the beautiful Upper Goulburn Valley, and is easily accessed by following the brown tourist signs.

The railway and museum has been developed by a group of dedicated volunteers over a fifteen year period and is a not for profit incorporated body and has been open to the public since 2007. For more information please go to ‘history’ to follow our development and journey.

All proceeds are put back into the development and running of this facility, please note we do not have eftpos facilities at the KMR.

The live steam museum is usually operational on Sunday and for pre-arranged large groups.
